America’s Biggest Power Grid Operator Has an AI Problem—Too Many Data Centers
Instead of knocking our heads into the wall by trying to cram more stuff onto our slow-moving, increasingly rickety, and forever deeply politicized grids, why don’t we get simply make it easier for people to build off-grid? There is now a bill in Congress which would do just that.
The DATA Act would exempt off-grid utilities from federal utility regulation (https://lnkd.in/gy5TDukz). Less regulation = faster development + more innovation + less pressure on the regulated grids. Everybody wins.
