Big Tech’s A.I. Data Centers Are Driving Up Electricity Bills for Everyone
Amazon cannot sell everything it wants because it lacks access to electricity: "Andy Jassy, Amazon’s chief executive, recently told investors that the company could have had higher sales if it had more data centers. “The single biggest constraint,” he said, “is power.”" Electricity is now constraining economic growth. That's a big problem. How can we address this given that the electricity sector is slow moving and given the 24x7 real-time needs, MUST be slow moving. That's where "Consumer Regulated Electricity" (CRE) comes in. CRE is state policy that would allow the building of new, independent, competitive, and large-scale utilities. These "CRE Utilities" could move faster and be far more innovative than the current sector. Now is the time.
