CRE/BYOP 3Q2026 Advocacy Update

We continue promoting CRE, or BYOP in Texas, throughout the country. New Jersey is the latest state to introduce a CRE bill. CRE/BYOP is the only policy proposal which addresses all major concerns:

(1) Helps protect reliability for captive ratepayers

(2) Helps protect rates for captive ratepayers

(3) Helps add new capacity faster

(4) Reduces the need for large transmission projects which take land from private parties

(5) Speeds up the building of new power hungry facilities and their economic benefits

(6) Uses resources more efficiently than typical off-grid projects

(7) Reduces the cost while improving the reliability of off-grid projects.
