Data centers are ready to negotiate flexibility for speed

Isn’t the point of our continuously larger grid is that it becomes more and more reliable? It seems we’ve finally come to the end of that road. Off-grid systems are generally considered less reliable albeit much faster to build. If an off-grid system could scale like a utility, the reliability would improve with each added customer, just the way the grid is supposed to work. There would be no need to trade-off flexibility (i.e., less reliability) for speed. You'd get them both in the same system. That’s Consumer Regulated Electricity (CRE).
