“Private electricity networks can help electricity-intensive facilities like data centers get the electricity they need quickly without shifting costs to existing customers.” Creating a new archipelago of “islanded” facilities certainly has its critics, but no strategy is going to address every imaginable concern. With spiking demand and widespread worries about affordability creating political pushback on new facilities, giving the green light to privately funded on-site generation is an obviously good idea.”
