“[New Hampshire] can make this offer: If you need a lot of electricity and you are willing to provide it yourself, New Hampshire has already created a legal path for you to do so. State economic development officials should be telling energy-intensive businesses about HB 672. Site selectors should know about it. Developers looking at New England should know that New Hampshire offers an option that neighboring states do not.
Instead of competing only on taxes, workforce and land, New Hampshire can compete on something that is becoming increasingly valuable: a faster path to abundant power that does not ask existing electricity customers to pay for it.”
