The industry can’t agree on what AI demand risk is worth

What sort of complex and sophisticated financial analysis do regulators use to determine the optimal return on equity for utilities? I think this piece gets it about right: "Dominion requested a higher return on equity of at least 10.40%, while the Data Center Coalition, the industry’s own trade group, argued for 8.90%. The commission split the difference and set 9.8%." 🤷‍♂️
