As electric bills rise, evidence mounts that data centers share blame. States feel pressure to act

State policymakers - One easy measure is to allow more suppliers into your state. "Consumer Regulated Electricity" (CRE) has zero risk and zero cost to existing ratepayers but can increase the number of suppliers. Adopting a CRE policy would enable private investors to build new, independent, competitive, and large scale utilities focused on supplying the fast growing data center industry. Giving data centers an attractive alternative to the regulated utilities is a win for the data centers, a win for the private investors, and a win for the regulated utility ratepayers.
