FERC approves PJM request to delay electricity auction

Does this sound like a market? "Federal regulators on Friday approved a request from the largest U.S. power market to wait until next summer to conduct another power supply auction...to address concerns that the market is designed to create perceived power shortages, and that drives up prices." It's because of things like this - regulator delays and concerns about supply and prices due to the limited connection to market forces - that led us to realize the importance of state policy that will allow for the creation of new utilities that function independently of the regulated sector. Without that independence and freedom, the U.S. won't be able to satisfy the rapidly growing demand from artificial intelligence and other data centers.
