Your Electric Bill Is Rising Faster Than Inflation. Here’s Why.
How can state policy makers mitigate the problem of rising electric bills while still welcoming new data centers? Give the data centers an option to the traditional utility connections. "Consumer Regulated Electricity" or CRE is one such option. CRE calls for states to allow the creation of new, independent, competitive, and large-scale utilities. These new "CRE Utilities" will have to move faster and be far more innovative than is possible by existing utilities. Moreover, the more data centers choose CRE Utilities, the less pressure on those rising electric bills of voters.
