Texas regulators urged to halt $33B transmission plan

The Texas oil and gas industry has been alerting ERCOT to the need for more transmission for a decade. “Bring Your Own Power” (BYOP), the Texas version of CRE would provide alternatives to ERCOT. If Texas had adopted BYOP a decade ago, how many producers would have chosen to get their power from a BYOP system? How much economic value would that have added to the state? How much would BYOP systems have lessened the need for new ERCOT transmission today?

Texas needs BYOP now.
